xi'an terra cotta army (34)

With God’s Breath, even sculptures could live.

“And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” ~ Genesis 2:7, KJV

Reflection

What is it to truly “live?”  Is it having large amounts of money, fine dining, and flaunting what you have?  Or perhaps it is to be a family man or woman, devoting your time to your family.  Bungee jumping, swimming with sharks, and doing outrageous things to get a thrill, maybe?

True living is true breathing.  Breathing is an act that shows God’s mercy in our day-to-day life.  Each breath is a wonderful gift– another moment of life that God has given us, straight from his own heart.

Our breath is given directly by God.  Look at today’s scripture again: “…and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life…”  Each time we breath and realize its source, we can come closer to our Father, for we realize that he sustains us one breath at a time.  With that gift, “man became a living soul.”
